    Background on the incident

On 14th March at 13:00, our monitoring systems detected an issue with one of our undersea cable routes, WACS. Dear RSAWEB Customer,

Earlier this afternoon, our monitoring systems detected an issue with one of our undersea cable routes, WACS. While this incident did not directly affect RSAWEB's network, as we have multiple international network paths we observed that other content networks, such as Microsoft, are experiencing degradation as a result.

This degradation may impact Microsoft services, including Office and related content, for some users.

    Dear RSAWEB Customer,

RSAWEB Engineers will be conducting proactive, routine maintenance on the backup power system at the RSAWEB Data Centre. Routine testing of the data centre backup power system ensures it is operating at optimal performance, in light of the ongoing Eskom loadshedding, and the fragile state of the national power grid.

A simulated power grid failure will be initiated to test seamless transfer to backup power, followed by load and failover testing of each of the backup generators.

There is no impact to services expected as the power load can be diverted back to grid power at any time.

    Maintenance Window:

    Date: 20 March 2024

    Time: 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM

If you require any information regarding this maintenance please reach out to our support teams via 087 470 0500 or soc@rsaweb.net.

    Regards,

    Dear RSAWEB Customer,

RSAWEB will be conducting proactive electrical maintenance to optimise the reliability of the backup power system in the RSAWEB data centre.

    Maintenance Schedule:
    Date: May 18, 2024
Time: 3:00 AM to 3:00 PM

Impact: Intermittent electricity supply to the A-power feed input for electronic equipment in the RSAWEB data centre for the duration of the maintenance. All single-corded devices, and dual-corded devices with both cables, connected to only A-feed will be affected.

Co-location customers are encouraged to verify that their equipment is dual-corded and plugged into A + B-feeds, or alternatively plugged into the B-power feed, before 18 May 2024, to ensure the continued uptime of their equipment during the maintenance. To log a DC access request to inspect your co-located equipment, kindly complete the DC access request form or contact our SOC support team at soc@rsaweb.net

Customers who have questions about the planned maintenance can contact our SOC support team at soc@rsaweb.net or by calling 087 470 0500.
